About Us

St John’s with Duffield Methodist Church is a busy and welcoming community, based right next to Park Farm shopping centre in Allestree.

In September 2024 Methodists in Duffield began a new journey, without the cares and responsibilities of managing Methodist property and assets, they merged with St John’s Methodist Church. Then in November 2024 we celebrated our 60th Anniversary.

Our Minister is Rev Tracey Harris. We hold a Sunday Service at 10.30am, this is followed by refreshments.

Why not come and join us and meet new friends? Everyone is welcome.

There’s lots to do at St John’s. We’ve got activities ranging from pre-school groups to senior gatherings. We have weekly zumba, STEP, senior exercise and dance classes, as well as choirs – Take Heart, The Collaboration Choir and Derby Hospital’s Choir (September-November). During term-time our groups include: Brownies, Rainbows, pilates, yoga, Boogie Woogie Babes, TOTS and Tiny Talk. Schools Out is here after school and run a holiday club during most school holidays. Add to all of this the senior groups – Lunch Club (twice a month) and the Men’s Club (monthly). Not to mention, the Saturday Café on the second Saturday of the month, as well. Take a look at the ‘Weekly Activities’ page for all the details.

We have on-site parking, as well as disabled access and facilities.
